NCB PAY is a digital wallet that allows you to ‘digitise’ your credit and prepaid cards. This means that you can store your cards in a digital form in your phone and use the digital cards to conveniently and securely make purchases in-store at point of sale (POS) machines with Contactless Payment Technology.
NCB PAY offers a simple and more convenient payment experience that is quicker than searching through the wallet or purse.
NCB PAY uses near field communication (NFC) to make contactless mobile payments. NFC enables supported devices to execute payment transactions at almost every POS machine in the world.
When transacting, ensure you click the contactless transaction button and place your mobile phone within close proximity of the POS terminal.
Near Field Communication or NFC is a method of wirelessly transmitting data using radio waves. NCB PAY uses NFC to wirelessly transmit payment data to payment terminals with NFC readers that have been activated for use.
NCB PAY uses tokenisation to encrypt the payment information. Additionally, you must verify your identity using either your fingerprint or a 4-digit PIN when making purchases.
Tokenisation is a method of replacing the sensitive payment card information (card number, expiration date, security code, etc.) with a device-specific ‘token’, which acts as a substitute. In mobile payments, tokens are used to protect the payment information and to reduce the security risks inherent to physical card.
With NCB PAY, you will be able to conduct contactless card transactions using your mobile phone without your physical card being present. You will also receive notifications each time a transaction is completed. You will also be able to add ‘block’ and ‘unblock’ features to their functionalities.
The contactless payment technology, through the NCB PAY wallet, allows payments to be made quickly and securely by tapping the cellphone on the POS enabled with this function.
The NCB PAY wallet app is compatible on Android cellphone or device with version 6.0 or above.
To use NCB PAY, you will need:
o An android device with NFC enablement
o A supported payment card from VISA and MasterCard
o Registered fingerprint or NCB PAY PIN
You can download the application, free of cost, from the Google Play Store.
You can use NCB PAY at any Visa and Mastercard merchant that are enabled for contactless transactions.
Yes, the digital wallet works like a physical card. You can add/register your NCB Visa credit, NCB Mastercard credit and NCB Prepaid cards to the app.
The NCB PAY wallet app is not able to work at ABMs at this time. However, it is being considered for future upgrade releases of NCB PAY.
As NCB PAY hosts the digital version/s of the physical card/s, your transaction limit is the same as that set by you for each physical card/s.
If the POS device requests a PIN, simply enter the current PIN associated with the correlating physical card. If a signature is required, simply sign on the signature line of the printed receipt, as you would when transacting with a physical card.
NCB PAY does not have access to the bank accounts.
Yes, you would need to register your card again as no data will be stored in the application.
You should have the cellphone screen up or faced towards you.
It is recommended that cardholders remove the lost card from the digital wallet as soon as it is reported lost. Adding/Registering the new card to NCB PAY should be done as soon as it is received.
NCB PAY is password protected. This prevents unauthorised individuals from accessing the mobile wallet. However, to be safe, contact our Customer Care Centre at 888-622-3477 or visit https://managemycard.jncb.com/ to temporarily block the card.
You should ensure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile data and have installed the latest version of NCB PAY mobile wallet.
Adding the card may fail if:
• Card/product is not compatible;
• The card is not active or is expired.
• The card has been blocked.
If the issue persists, contact our Customer Care Centre at NCB FIRST (888-622- 3477).
There are a few reasons the POS machine would not recognise your card:
• POS is not enabled for contactless payments
• Cellphone was removed too quickly, which prevented the POS from recognising
the card
• The phone case may be interfering with the NFC signal and may need to be
removed when making a purchase.
• The device (cellphone or tablet) is not NFC compatible
Yes, the physical card works independently from the cards stored in the digital wallet.
The cards on NCB PAY are digital versions of your physical payment cards. If you lose the original payment card and then receive a replacement card, you will be able to remove the original payment card from app and register the replacement card.
Enabling this function allows you to make a contactless payment without opening the NCB PAY wallet. This option works when the cellphone uses a safe-blocking mechanism (biometrics, fingerprint, and PIN) and the transaction is done within 30 seconds or less after unlocking the mobile device to process the payment. The instant payment option uses your favourite card, and offers more flexibility to make fast POS transactions.
The NCB PAY will display the payment history executed via the device. Simply tap on a registered card in the app to see all the transactions made with that card. Additionally, real-time notifications with transaction details will be sent after each purchase.
When the app is opened, the first card displayed is either the last card registered or the last card viewed or used. You have the option of setting a card as your favourite card.
Canceling a payment made using NCB PAY is the same as a physical card. You can dispute your payment by contacting Customer care Centre at 888-622-3477 or visit https://managemycard.jncb.com/
