About NCB Innovation Internship

The National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited is proud to invite tertiary students to participate in the 2023 Virtual Innovation Internship. The Innovation Internship provides valuable real-world business experience to university students through a variety of tailored assignments.

Interns will have the unique opportunity to share their perspectives on products and services that can help customers to unlock their dreams. Interns will also prototype and test their solutions.

By participating in the internship, you will receive training in analytical techniques, design thinking, scrum and agile principles.

The programme will run for four weeks starting July 10, 2023 and ending August 4, 2023. You will work remotely and participate in virtual workshops and meetings.

Participants may apply to be considered for the NCB 2023 Virtual Innovation Internship Programme by completing and submitting the application form. The required information must be entered accurately, and each participant agrees to accept the Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

To be considered for the Innovation Internship applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be actively enrolled in a university program and completed at least one year of undergraduate program study.

Studying in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, Business or related areas.

Have a working knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and/or data analysis software like Tableau and SAS

Have a good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Exhibit strong work ethic, analytical, critical thinking problem solving, verbal and written communication skills. This will be measured through the interview process.

Ability to quickly learn new methodologies, technologies and software

Structure Of The Internship

Selection

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the interview phase of the selection process and/or if additional supporting documentation is required.

Compensation

Each participant will receive a competitive intern salary. There will also be prizes and other incentives.

Duration

The programme will run for four weeks, starting July 3, 2023 and ending July 28, 2023.

Location

Programme activities will be hybrid - in-person and virtual and participants will work at home or any other suitable secure location outside of the office for a part of their workweek.

Remote Work Requirement

The minimum requirements for working from home are outlined below:

Applicants must supply and support their computer hardware, software and internet.

Able to produce MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF and documents.

Able to use collaboration tools such as Slack and join virtual meeting platforms such as Webex and Zoom

Able to work in Kingston, Jamaica

Be able to work a set schedule Mondays – Fridays 8:15 am – 5:00 pm during the period July 10, 2023 – August 4, 2023
