HYLTON

Patrick Hylton - Group Managing Director

Patrick Hylton was appointed Group Managing Director of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB), Jamaica’s largest commercial bank, on December 1, 2004 and has led the organization to achieve record growth in profitability over the course of his tenure.

Mr. Hylton joined the bank as Deputy Group Managing Director just two years prior and set about skilfully managing the Bank’s investment and insurance subsidiaries.

Since taking the helm, Patrick Hylton has effectively led the company to the achievement of local and international recognition including Best Commercial Bank, Best Banking Group and Best Investment Management Company. Under his leadership, the Bank has diversified its portfolio and expanded into regional markets to become one of the premier Banking Groups in the region.

His ascent to national and international prominence began years earlier when he was appointed a leading role by the Government in the restructuring of the Jamaican financial sector during the mid-1990s. His successful completion of that undertaking culminated in the national award of the Order of Distinction, Commander Class, being bestowed on him by the Prime Minister and Governor General of Jamaica in 2002.

Complementing his strategic business acumen and an empathetic but firm leadership style, are his academic achievements as an Honours Graduate in Business Administration and as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) London. He is a Past President of the Jamaica Bankers Association and in addition to being a Director of NCB, he is Chairman of The Mona School of Business and Management, Harmonisation Limited and NCB Capital Markets Limited.

Mr. Hylton also sits on the oversight committee appointed to monitor the implementation of Jamaica's programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Mr. Hylton is also a member of Jamaica’s Economic Growth Council set up to advise the Government on proposed initiatives that are expected to yield economic growth.

He sits on several boards including Guardian Holdings Limited in Trinidad, Massy Holdings Limited a Trinidad based conglomerate and the Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services (CariCRIS).

He is an avid reader and sports enthusiast with track and field holding a special place.


COHEN

Dennis Cohen - Group Finance and Deputy Group Managing Director

Dennis Cohen joined NCB in 2004 as Group Chief Financial Officer after a decade of experience gained at Citibank N.A. Jamaica, including serving as Country Treasurer for the local branch and its affiliates. He also served as head of Citibank's Relationship Management Group. Prior to commencing his career in Banking, Mr. Cohen was employed to Price WaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Accountant.

As Group Finance and Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Cohen has oversight responsibility for the Group’s insurance and wealth management business segments, and provides leadership and oversight for the Group’s financial planning and reporting. He is also responsible for monitoring the performance of the Group against strategy and budget, and overseeing the Group’s transformation office and investor relations function.

As the former CEO of NCB Capital Markets Limited, he had responsibility for the day to day management of the Group’s securities dealership and stock brokerage business, which forms a major part of the wealth management segment.

Mr. Cohen is Chair of the Board of Advantage General Insurance Company Limited (AGIC) and Mutual Security Insurance Brokers Limited; and also serves as director of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, NCB Capital Markets Limited, NCB Insurance Company Limited, NCB (Cayman) Limited, and West Indies Trust Company Limited. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and was also recently appointed as one of 16 Commissioners of the CARICOM Review Commission.


ALLEN

Dr. Rickert Allen - Senior General Manager, Group Human Resources and Facilities Division

Dr. Rickert Allen is currently the Senior General Manager, Group Human Resources and Facilities Division. Mr. Allen joined National Commercial Bank (NCB) in January 1, 2002 as Senior Assistant General Manager, HR and was promoted to General Manager and subsequently promoted to his current post. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM).

As the Senior General Manager, his core mandates are the development and direction of strategies for the effective and efficient management of the human capital of the NCB Group in keeping with the organisation's strategic direction, the establishment and maintenance of a Talent Portfolio Framework to facilitate talent acquisition, engagement, development, deployment, rotation and workforce planning and to position the HR function of NCB Group as a strategic driver in order to create a work environment conducive to high levels of employee productivity, engagement and customer service excellence.

He also has overall responsibility for the Facilities provisioning for the Group and is a member of the Compensation Committee of NCB Insurance Company Limited and NCB Capital Markets Limited.

Dr. Rickert Allen is a leader in the field with decades of experience gained in the bauxite, alumina and financial services industries. He possesses a proven track record in organizational diagnostics and design, workforce analytics and planning, change management, industrial relations and occupational safety and health administration.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and 2nd Vice President of the Jamaica Employers Federation (JEF). He serves on the board of HEART Institute of the Caribbean and is a member of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Education Committee and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Human Capital Institute (HCI) and the UWI Mentorship Programme.


BLAKE1

Septimus "Bob" Blake - Senior General Manager, Treasury & Correspondent Banking Division

Mr. Septimus "Bob" Blake joined NCB in March 2002. As General Manager, Treasury & Correspondent Banking Division since 2004, he provides overall direction and management of the interest rate risk management, liquidity management, investment portfolio management, currency management, financial institutions relationship management functions and Foreign Exchange trading for the Bank. He is also responsible for the management of local financial institution and correspondent banking relationships.

Mr. Blake joined NCB as Manager, Asset Trading, charged with responsibility for the management of the Bank's investment portfolio and was subsequently promoted to Assistant General Manager in February 2003 with responsibility for the tactical management of interest rate, liquidity and foreign exchange risk.

He has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, and has received professional training in asset/liability & risk management both locally and overseas.

Mr. Blake is a member of the N.C.B. Foundation, serves on NCB's- Assets & Liabilities Committee - (ALCO), NCB Capital Markets Limited - Investment Management Committee and NCB Insurance Company Ltd - Investment Management Committee. He also serves as director on the boards of NCB Remittance Services (Jamaica) Limited, NCB Remittance Services (UK) Limited and NCB Capital Markets Limited.


BOOTHE

Brian Boothe - General Manager, Corporate Banking Division

Brian is responsible to strategically guide, grow and manage the Bank’s Corporate Banking portfolio. He is charged with leading the Division in accordance with high efficiency benchmarks aligned to the Bank’s strategic plan with special emphasis on the development of human capital for sustainable business growth. He is also responsible for the delivery and management of an asset portfolio of high-value ‘blue chip’ corporate clients with significant loan and deposit bases important to the Bank’s profitability and growth. 

Prior to his appointment as General Manager, he served as Senior Assistant General Manager responsible for management of the Division’s western unit, where he effectively attended to a cross-section of NCB’s largest clients thus driving the profit of the Division.  He served the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry as Vice President and Director over several years and is currently a Director of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC).

Brian also brings a wealth of industry experience to bear in his current role having held key management positions in Finance and Retail Banking.

Brian holds an MBA (Finance) from Dalhousie University in Canada and a B.SC. Management Studies, (First Class Honours) from University of the West Indies. He was also Councillor of the Association of Graduate Students at Dalhousie and President of Management Studies Association at UWI.


GARCIA

Dave L. Garcia - Company Secretary & General Manager, Group Legal & Compliance Division

Dave is responsible for leading the team that provides the Bank and its subsidiaries with general advice, leadership and direction on all legal, regulatory, compliance and corporate secretarial matters. He is charged with guiding the Group's legal strategy in its drive toward growth and expansion in Jamaica and elsewhere in the Caribbean. His role also encompasses ensuring the effective management of relationships with external counsel acting on behalf of the NCB Group.

A former partner at Myers, Fletcher & Gordon (MF&G), Mr Garcia possesses a wealth of experience in civil litigation with an emphasis on banking, employment and industrial relations, corporate and commercial matters. He is Chairman of Youth Reaching Youth, a charitable organization and Co-Chairperson of the Jamaica Bankers Association's Compliance Committee. He is also a member of the Jamaica Bar Association's Commercial Law Committee, and has previously served as its Convenor.

He became an attorney-at-law in 1997 and is a graduate of the Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, having obtained a Master of Laws Degree for studies in Corporate Law. Before that, he was awarded a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School.

Mr. Garcia has been the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including the Jamaica Scholarship and the Carreras Post-Graduate Scholarship. He continues to contribute to the development of legal education in Jamaica, primarily as a Course Director at the Norman Manley Law School.


GOODEN

Steven Gooden - Chief Executive Officer, NCB Capital Markets Limited

Steven leads the Group's wealth, asset management and investment banking arm, which under his leadership has expanded into the southern and eastern Caribbean via the establishment of hubs in the Cayman Islands, Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados. His strategic focus is to drive product penetration throughout the Group and to expand the company's reach across the region, which include Spanish and Dutch speaking terrorities. 

Prior to this appointment he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer where he led the team through a number of successful strategic and portfolio deals. With seven years experience at the senior management level, his background also includes research, unit trust management, structured products, private equity, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions.


GORDON

Howard Gordon - Senior General Manager, Group Operations and Technology Division

Mr. Howard Gordon joined NCB on January 1, 2009 as General Manager Network Operations, charged with reengineering the operating processes and practices to support the group's customer service strategies, implementing initiatives to promote operational efficiency across the NCB group and leading the creation of an operations environment consistent with international banking practices to support the group's risk, sales and service strategies.


In February 2010, Howard was given oversight of the Group's Information Technology Division (IT) in conjunction with his role as Head of Network Operations. In this role as Senior General Manager, Group Operations and Technology Division, his mandate was expanded to include direct responsibility for the vision, strategy, direction, planning and architecture of all information technology activities within the NCB Group.

He will drive the formulation of the technology direction of the IT Division within the context of the strategic objectives of the Group while ensuring the effective management, efficient functioning and satisfactory availability of the Organization's IT resources. He will leverage expertise within the IT and Network Operations framework to improve overall efficiency and realize significant cost containment for the NCB Group.

Mr. Gordon possesses a wealth of experience in auditing, risk management, operational management, business process re-engineering and productivity management as well as a working knowledge of information systems.

He is a graduate of the Manchester School of Business at the University of Manchester where he earned his MBA, he holds a first class honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Technology (Jamaica) and he is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) London.

Mr. Gordon boasts twenty-eight years of experience in the financial sector which include senior management positions at RBTT, Citizens Bank and Union Bank of Jamaica Limited.


TUGWELL

Audrey Tugwell Henry - Senior General Manager, Retail Banking Division

Mrs. Audrey Tugwell Henry joined NCB on June 2, 2008 and is charged with the responsibilty for leadership of the Retail Banking Division. She implements initiatives that will allow the business to achieve its targeted growth and profitability, as well as evaluate the market trends, both locally and internationally, in order to develop a wide array of banking solutions to meet consumer needs. Her focus includes improving efficiency and customer experience.

A former General Manager in Retail and Electronic Banking at the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited, Mrs. Tugwell Henry possesses a wealth of experience in the financial services industry. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a Masters of Business Administration in General Management.

Mrs. Tugwell Henry serves on the boards of NCB Remittance Services (U.K.) Ltd., NCB Insurance Company Ltd. and J.E.T.S. Ltd.


JAMES

Vernon James - Managing Director and CEO, NCB Insurance Company Limited

Vernon James has overall responsibility for the strategic leadership of NCB Insurance Company. He has portfolio responsibility for over $50B in Pension Funds under management and is charged with improving NCBIC market share. 

Vernon holds a Master of Science Degree in Financial Mathematics from the Warwick University in England and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from the University of the West Indies. He has also served in various capacities at Scotia Investments and was the Assistant Vice President for Equity Trading and Stock Brokerage Services, up to the time of his departure in 2008.


MATTHEWS

Nadeen Matthews - Chief Digital & Marketing Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the N.C.B Foundation

Nadeen has responsibility for driving the digital transformation across the NCB Group of Companies and leads the Group's Marketing and Communications and Enterprise Information Management functions. Her role as CEO of the NCB Foundation involves direct executive responsibility for the operations and execution of various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives undertaken by the NCB Group, through the N.C.B Foundation.

Her earlier work experience includes duties as Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company, Atlanta Georgia and Assistant Vice President at JPMorgan Chase in New York.

Nadeen completed her MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Marketing and Entrepreneurship and graduated cum laude from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics.


THOMPSON

Mark Thompson - President and Chief Executive Officer, Advantage General Insurance Company Limited

Mark has responsibility for the development and execution of the strategic goals to propel Advantage General Insurance Company, to achieve its vision of becoming a globally recognized and innovative industry leader. In executing his leadership mandate, he provides direction to his team in financial, risk and performance management and corporate governance and compliance.

He has worked in several prominent businesses in senior positions with the most recent being as the Chief Financial Officer for the Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited. He also worked in Canada for over 10 years and within the CARICOM region at companies such as KPMG, MGI Software and World Gaming Plc.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Toronto with a minor in Actuarial Science and Economics. He has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants for over 15 years. He is Director of the Insurance Association of Jamaica Executive Board and a member of the General Insurance Executive Committee.


RICKETTS

Mukisa Wilson Ricketts - Chief Internal Auditor - Group Internal Audit Division

Mrs. Mukisa Wilson Ricketts joined National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) in January 2008. She is charged with providing strategic direction and oversight of the internal audit activities for the NCB Group. Her role facilitates transparency of the Bank's operations through independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes and the internal control environment.

With 14 years of internal and external audit experience to her credit, Mrs. Wilson Ricketts is a seasoned auditor.

She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with The Institute of Internal Auditors, USA, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), UK, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (FCA).

Prior to joining NCB, Mrs. Wilson Ricketts held the post of Senior Audit Manager at The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited. She began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she held the position of Senior Accountant at the time of her departure.


WYNTER

Allison Wynter - General Manager, Group Risk Management Division

Allison has responsibility for the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and shared-management of the principal risks faced by the NCB Group, with particular emphasis on Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk and Operational Risk. 

She has been employed to the Bank since 2002. Prior to joining NCB, she held the position of Risk Manager at Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited, a local Securities Dealer. Prior to commencing her financial services career, Ms Wynter was employed to PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the post of Senior Audit Manager.

She is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst, who also holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Manchester, a Masters in Accounts and Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree from the University Of The West Indies.

Ms. Wynter is a member of the Bank's Credit Committee, Group ALCO and ALCO (Asset & Liability) Committees and serves on the Investment Committee of NCB Insurance Company Limited and the Risk Management committees of NCB Capital Markets Limited and NCB Cayman Limited. She is also a trustee of the NCB Staff Superannuation Fund (1999).

She is a member of the Accounting Standards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
